on their faces when they win. It keeps us going

presents the 12th annual Dennis Schuchard
Memorial held July 21st in Harlowton, Montana.
Dennis Schuchard was a cowboy to the core, being
a member of several rodeo associations throughout
his life and dedicating his life to the western way
of life. He roped steers, calves and rode broncs, but
his real love for team roping came later in his life
when he was teaching his sons, Shane and Lance,
how to rope. In 2005, Dennis courageously lost his
battle to leukemia. Although he may be gone, he
will never be forgotten, and every July ropers pay
tribute to a man who always strived to help others.
"My dad was a wonderful family man, and
without him we wouldn't be the ropers or the
cowboys that we are today," explained Shane
Schuchard. "He rodeoed his entire life, starting out
riding broncs and eventually working his way into
roping. He got my brother Lance and I into roping,
and to put on a roping like this in honor of him
certainly makes us all very proud!"
The day will consist of 5 roping's, starting with
the #7 roping and ending with the #11. Each roping
is sponsored by different companies including
Wrangler, Fast Back, Cactus Ropes and Boulet,
and each roping is giving away fantastic prizes,
including Gist Gold Buckles that will be given
away to the winners of the #9 roping!
"We absolutely love being a part of the WTRC,"
explained Schuchard. "They put on outstanding
events that are family friendly. Moms and dads can
rope, kids can rope, they cater to the entire family,
and by doing that they create a chance for anyone
to win on any given day."
Another reason Schuchard loves the WTRC is
because of the wonderful sponsors who sponsor
the roping's.
"The sponsors and sponsorships are another
reason why I love the WTRC. The sponsors are
great and are always very accommodating. The
kind of prizes that you can win because of the
sponsors is unreal. I don't think many ropers
understand that because of the sponsors and their
generosity, these roping's have the ability to give
away rope sponsorships, boot sponsorships, etc.
That goes a long way!"
With a fun-filled day consisting of good roping
and good ole family fun, be sure to attend the 12th
annual Dennis Schuchard Memorial Roping if you
are in the area!
"I would like to thank the sponsors and the
ropers for their continued support. They have
been supporting our roping for many years and
producing a roping like this is a lot of work! We
are thankful and happy that people keep coming
