We're super excited about this and some big changes that are going to make it epic! As I'm sure most of you have heard, we're moving the finals to Salem, Oregon. Another awesome announcement is that this year's finals are a qualifier for RFDTV's The American! We're giving northwest cowboys and cowgirls the chance to compete for big (determined by added money) at the time of entry with points being distributed from 1.5 pts for entering and going up from there depending on placing. Since launching in May of 2018, the WCRA and its partners have awarded more than $4,453,890 in new money to rodeo athletes. Qualifying is based on points, rather than dollars won, through our world ranking points system. The WCRA format and schedule suits all rodeo athletes and for the first time in rodeo history, allows additional earning opportunities for competitors through the development of new, unique format, large payout rodeo events in major markets. How it works: -contestant nominates where they plan to compete and WCRA will track their performance. -based on the contestant's performance, they will be awarded points -based on points earned through nominated performances, a contestant will advance to one of the $500,000 semi- finals events and possibly on to a one-day $1,000,000 major rodeo.
