How does that seem possible? It has been, yet again, an odd year in the rearview. Struggling around the coronavirus, drought, fires, and plenty of other things all contributed to the year star ng and holding in fits and starts. Times where the days and weeks flew by, while other mes the hours creeped along. Members have been impacted by all of the above and more. Yet, here we are, into September. For be er or worse, fall and winter is imminent. The rou ne of Mother Nature that con nues. Our final Ranch Horse Compe on of the year was held over August 28-29, at the Madison County Fair Grounds in Twin Bridges, Montana. The show season always has plenty of great runs and some mighty exci ng Year End races in mul ple classes. The 2021 season is no excep on. Look for the results of the weekend in the next installment of the Wrangler as the newsle er deadline was a week and a half ahead of the actual show. Judges for the show were Jess Kirkpatrick for the dry and cow work, Christy Todd, a local 4-H leader, judged the trail segment. The cumula ve points for eligible members will be tallied to determine the Year End Award High Point and Reserve High Point winners. Not all classes had eligible Year End riders. We'll see the thrill of races that came down to the wire. If the Annual Mee ng and Award Banquet a endance is at all possible for members and friends, please come. This is the one large membership mee ng per year and this is where members can have input into the associa on, the many programs ranging from the Stallion Service Auc on to the Ranch Horse series, commi ees and officer openings, and many other aspects that keep the associa on strong and going. This is also the right opportunity to network with other horse members within the associa on and a chance to see the variety the RMBA truly encompasses. The year 2021 was the 21st year of existence for the RMBA; we need enthusias c and interested visionaries who are interested in staying true to our roots and to also combine ideas and implement programs that will draw in new members and keep the RMBA going strong. We want to remain a posi ve force in the equine world for many more anniversaries. We par cularly need young members, we're looking to draw in youth, they are the future of the equine industry as a whole. The RMBA is an organiza on filled with opportunity, made up of wonderful people, and who fill roles in the equine world that are thriving. If this sounds like what you'd love to be a part of, keep an eye on the RMBA Facebook page and/or the e-blasts and newsle er that will highlight the Annual Mee ng & Award Banquet.
