Olsen picked up points 2nd in the heeling behind partner Samuel Perez and again at 10th with Terry McIntosh. Olsen, who has three other brothers, has been roping and riding since he was li le and even won his first saddle at just four years old. Since then, he has been hooked. Horses and roping have played a major part in Olsen's life and he doesn't hardly go a day without riding or roping. Besides riding and roping, Olsen also enjoys fishing, hun ng and camping. An outdoors man to the core! Olsen admi ed that winning a truck at a NTR Truck Roping has been a goal of his since he was li le and accomplishing that goal on his best heel horse (Hoover-who is 18-years-young) made that win all that much sweeter! "I was in shock when they announced that I had won the truck," said Olsen. "I couldn't believe that I had just won a pickup. It was one of the best feelings and experiences that I have ever had." To help keep himself and his roping sharp, Olsen listens to Payden Bray and pays close a en on to his success and style. He also likes to study videos of himself roping to try and fix any mistakes and ul mately improve himself as a rider and a roper. Olsen high school rodeos in Utah and he ropes with his older brother. The duo just won a state tle this summer and Swade Olsen's Big Lab Day Win Swade Olsen's Big Lab Day Win now Olsen is looking to add three more state tles to that list along with a few na onal tles, if all goes well. Olsen is incredibly grateful for his parents for giving him the opportunity to have nice horses and for hauling him and his brothers around to any roping they want to enter. "My parents are always pushing us to do our best and to maintain a good a tude even when things don't always go as planned.
