The Fizz Bomb Classic is a race with a deep history.
Established in 1982, the Fizz Bomb has been a premier
event in Gille e, Wyoming for 40 years. Barrel racers
from all over have flocked to the small Wyoming
community to try their chance with Lady Luck and
the cloverleaf pa ern. Every year the Cam Plex Event
Facility opens their doors to barrel racers and by the
first day of the event the parking lot is packed full of
rigs from all over the country.
This years Fizz Bomb Classic was loaded with
incen ves and added money. Hallie Hanssen and
Ms French Wallawalla pocketed $42,141 for their
fantas c efforts while in Gille e, winning the average
in the futurity, the Saturday open, and a load of
incen ve money from the $55,000 added Blue Collar
Breeders Futurity and Open sidepots and the $50,000
guaranteed Future Fortunes Open. In addi on,
Hanssen and the talented mare were also named
Future Fortunes Super Tour Champions earning
them another $3,000 included in that grand total of
$42,141, which also includes sire and breeder money
earned by Hanssen and "Walla". "Walla" is by the
late The Kandyman and out of futurity money earner

French Streakin Izzy, who is by A Streak A Fling and
out of PC Frenchmans Flirt, a full sister to Frenchmans
Guy.

The 7

Annual Wendy Larsen Memorial was held
in conjunc on with the 40
th
Annual Fizz Bomb Classic,
and like every year since its incep on, senior barrel
racers from all over invaded the
Cam Plex Event Center to honor
the event's namesake. Wendy
Larsen was a friend to everyone
and loved barrel racing, loved the
Fizz Bomb and loved having fun.
The event is open to racers fi y
years young and older. Produced
by Larsen's long me friends Jane
McGinley and Eva Edwards, the
event is a way to not only honor
the kind of person Larsen was,
but to remind barrel racers to
enjoy life, enjoy their shared
passion, and always, always have
fun.
This year's Wendy Larsen
Memorial was packed with
HALLIE HANSSEN AND MS FRENCH WALLAWALLA
incredible horses and jockeys and the compe on
was fierce. In the first round it was Colorado barrel
racer Kim Schulze that took top honors and on Sunday
it was Oklahoma veteran futurity trainers Mark Bugni
that lit the leaderboard up. As always, fun was had
by all and a wonderful woman that was lost too soon
was honored and remembered.
