I was attending the NCHA National Convention and ran out of time for an article. The convention was exciting as ever with the introduction of our new Executive Director Jim Brett Campbell and the installation of our new officers. There are a ton of new and exciting ideas in the works and the future of cutting looks bright. One exciting note was the bid that was being offered up by Denver (National Western Complex) for the 2014 Western Nationals. The bids need to be complete by the beginning of August and the Executive Committee will make their decision at that time. If you are interested you can go to www.nchacutting. com and view all the standing committee recommendations. These recommendations will be taken to the Executive Committee in August for their approval. If you have concerns or questions please contact a member of the committee you are interested in and let them know your thoughts. Each committee usually meets once again before the August Executive Meeting. If you are interested in where you are in the WCHA standing you can view them two ways, first being www. wyomingcha.com click on standing and it will link you directly to cutting news. Or, you can go directly to www.cuttingnews.com and click on area 4 and then on Wyoming CHA. Please mark your calendars for the August show in Torrington. There will be a pre-work for three year olds on Friday before the show. We are also working on using Torrington for our Year-end Show venue. I will keep you posted as details are hammered out.
