Fall is in the air!
It's hard to believe that summer has come and gone. It did not feel much like the wonderful
Wyoming summers that we are generally blessed with in Cheyenne, but the abundance of
moisture was welcomed for the crops. As the days start to get shorter, the children go back to
school, the crops are harvested and the foals are weaned, I can tell that fall is in the air.
Fall is also the time when there are many sale options. As a stallion owner and breeder, it is a
time for us to bring our best offspring to market. As a buyer it is a time for new beginnings. In
this issue, we had the opportunity to talk to (and learn from) some of the best in the business
and to showcase some of the premium sales happening this fall across the country. The horse
market is strong and buyers and sellers have lots of options to find the right fit for all parties. It
is exciting to have so many options for all! Finding the right fit for everyone is always the goal of
working through a sale.
One the cover is one of the quality horses in the Buffalo Livestock Marketing Sale. That is a
great sale put on by great people in Wyoming. The horse industry is a "small world" everyone
knows everyone it seems. If you are looking to purchase through a sale, get to know the seller.
Call them, ask questions, the sellers are very proud of their horses, they are happy to answer
questions. Sellers, get to know the folks at the sale barn, communicate clearly with them what
your ideal situation for the horse is. The more the sale company knows about your horse, the
more they can help you find the best new pasture for your pal.
Thank you for reading this issue of The WRANGLER Futurity Focused Equine News. Next
month, we will start thinking about "going south". Drop us a line and tell us your favorite spot in
Arizona, Texas, New Mexico or wherever! Arizona here we come! See you in Wickenburg soon.
