June, 2024 • The WRANGLER • 3 Letter from the PubLisher T he saying, "April Showers Bring May Flowers", is not true this year! We are changing it to "May Showers Bring June Flowers"! We have had so much rain that our grass this year should be fantastic. All the new calves and foals will surely blossom. We never want to complain about the rain or any moisture, but a sunny day or two would be nice! As summertime approaches, a wave of excitement sweeps through Wyoming. We're ready for a break from the wind and cold! The kids are out and about, and everyone is gearing up for the summer rodeo run! Summer rodeos are a highlight, with kids running around, watching their idols, and playing in the dirt. From pro-rodeos to youth events, Wyoming is the place to be in the summer! Cody Stampede has nightly rodeos, all across Wyoming there are weekly rodeos, and there's always a team roping or barrel race to keep the thrill alive! Our Jr. High kids are gearing up for their nationals in Iowa, and Wyoming is proud to have a strong representation in all events. The cowboy state has a long-standing tradition of sending talented cowboys and cowgirls down the rodeo road, and these kids are no exceptions! We're excited to share the stories of Hoyt Peil, Preston Thar, Oaklee Hoffman, Tess Jaure, & Tye Westbrook. Some of our Wyoming JR High kids competed in South Dakota as well, including: Josey Franze, Kaylee Lambert, Joslyn Pishcke, Clair Castleberry, & Paisley Rice. We will be cheering on all our Wyoming kids and wish them the best of luck in Des Moines. Thank you for reading The WRANGLER! We appreciate all our readers and advertisers. We could not do this without you! Sincerely, Alicia Werner Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it. – Julia Child
