owner. However, a person can make the best of the situation. Rubber mats, foam stall pads, and additional shavings can
give a horse that extra plush feeling when on an extended stay. Many facilities offer rentals of rubber mats, sell shavings
on-site, and have vendors set up with all of the pastes, supplements, and therapies that you may need to keep your
horses performing. Even a Cold-Water Spa can be found and set up for business at many of the major equine events
and shows. It becomes essential to make sure that your horses get out every day to exercise and move around. Working
their muscles and joints will go a long way in injury prevention and long-term maintenance.
When considering routines and care of your horse while traveling and competing, there really may not be a perfect
answer as to how much or how little to do. That question is ultimately up to each owner and trainer. If you aren't sure,
just ask for some help. In most cases, the professionals are happy to lend some advice, share stories, or refer you to
experts. Chances are, they have learned more lessons and experiences that you can benefit from. One thing can be for
certain, your job is to give your equine partner the very best care that they deserve.
