4 The Wrangler, Horse and Rodeo News • September 5-19, 2017 Bradley dominates Chasin' the Eclipse describe what that means. Darcy Moody - you kept everything light and helped me when I needed it the most. Special thanks to Steve and Sky Lefforge, Gary and Debbie Clymer, Penny Ready and Miss Cara Carper, The WRANGLER Classic Queen 2017. And of course, last but not least, you barrel racers. This event wouldn't have been possible without you! You all came in with such wonderful attitudes, ready to run and to have a great time. You all are the reasons I produce these races, thank you so much for coming! Jessie ann Chrisman, Chasin' Time Productions Big Piney, WY We would like to thank special guests - Rodeo Joe, Joe Knox and NIKO who came all the way from Reno, NV to introduce their new line of shampoo and conditioner. They had a Cut-A-Thon during the event - doing hair cuts for $10 each. One hundred percent of the $10 was donated to Jacy Grieves to help with her medical expenses. Jacy Grieves, 21 year old daughter of JD and Deena Grieves, was bucked off recently while running barrels in Taylor, NE. She suffered a really bad compression fracture to her spine. The family is facing very large medical bills and insurance is not adequately covering the expenses. Most everyone, in the rodeo and barrel racing world know JD and Deena. They own 4G Ranch Supply, in Moorcroft, WY and on most weekends you'll find them in their booth at a big event selling lots of cool stuff, including Cowgirl Tuff jeans - they beat everyone's prices and have a huge selection. Deena had planned to be at the Chasin' the Eclipse Barrel Race, until this terrible, life- changing accident happened. Jacy is a strong cowgirl and she'll recover - but until then, keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Another special guest, was Kayce Lassiter, from Litchfield Park, AZ. Kayce is an award winning romance author. She not only donated some of her novels, as door prizes, she also helped with the event, all weekend long, wherever needed! Karson and VF Stoned Eyes ran the only 17 second run on Saturday to win the 1D, followed by Sunday's impressive third place finish to walk away with the 1D Average buckle. Holding her own was VF A Famous Lady who won the 2D Sunday and finished fourth in the 1D Average to qualify Karson as the High Money Saddle winner and $1,646.00 for her weekend's efforts. Fast time honors went to Elaine Hollings and Flying Smoke Olena with the blistering fast 17.344 to beat Sunday's field of contestants by 3 tenths. Most consistent rider of the weekend was Kathy Ruby, who ended up winning the Target Saddle with a difference in times by .030. It takes an army! No truer words can describe what it takes to put on a barrel race. So many people came together to help make the Chasin' the Eclipse a huge success. Chasin' Time Production would like to thank Paulette Moss for the countless hours she put in getting the sponsors, the vendors, the awards. Jim Moss for the use of the JMA for this once in a lifetime event, your arena rocks!!! Eddie Pate who spent weeks, days and hours getting the arena prepped and ready for this fun filled weekend. Kenny Fleenor for roading the John Deere tractor to and from town; for the use of his own tractor and for working the arena, during the weekend. Carol and Dan Lee, CD Performance Horses, for the use of their water truck - they saved the Race! The countless barrel setters and gate help. It's a hard job, but, you all made it look fun and easy. Olie Moss, Olie's Images for taking amazing photos, capturing the weekend in beautiful photos and for watering the arena for nearly a week long. Ross Wagner/UBRC - you're the best announcer! Without you, the race wouldn't have ran smoothly and it would have been just another race. Thank you for taking it to that next level, words cannot KylEE O'NEAl OPEN 3D AVERAGE CHAMPION NICK COMEs OPEN 4D AVERAGE CHAMPION DARCy MOODy OPEN 2D AVERAGE CHAMPION
