Spring 2024 Clinics: CSSHA planned two clinics in the spring for CSSHA members. We want our members to feel prepared to go into the summer show season. CSSHA held the weekend Horsemanship Clinic by Gary Cooper on March 30-31 at the Hot Springs County indoor arena in Thermopolis, WY. Thanks to all who attended, who braved the weather reports (the travel to and from was much better than expected!) and who gave their time and energy to learning from an excellent clinician, Gary, and his assistant Casey. Gary is an AQHA Professional Horseman, an AQHA Heritage Versatility World Champion, and a World Show Qualifier for AQHA and NRCHA. As something new to try, we added a Youth-specific section on Saturday from 12:30-2:00, which was filled. Thanks to the families who joined us! Special thanks to Jori Skaggs and Paula McCormick for being clinic directors, to the Fremont County 4-H Judging Team for Saturday lunch, and to Harvey Seidel for our Easter Sunday Cowboy Church. The second Spring Clinic is a Cow Horse Clinic by Matt Kelly to be held on May 4 & 5 in Thermopolis, WY. The Novice and Advanced classes are currently full, and we are taking a waiting list. There are still Youth Rider spots available on May 4th for only $50. Call Jori Skaggs to reserve a Youth spot at 307-851-3820. Our Host Hotel for this clinic is the Quality Inn, 166 US Hwy 20 South.
