Please thank Brenda Walker and her volunteers for putting on the LOTRA Jackpot Series again with barrels, goat tying/goat tail tying, breakaway roping, open events, men's breakaway, youth events ages 9-12, and peewee events age 8 and under. There are tons of photos on the LOTRA Jackpot Series Facebook page. BARN NEWS and MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE: Thanks to the LOR Foundation grant, LOTRA has purchased a Black Widow groomer, which we began using the first week in April in time for the April 6 & 7 Final Jackpot Saddle Series. We had Jay Brower, of Brower Arena Specialists, visit our barn and consult on the ground and what we could do to improve the footing. His first recommendation was to purchase a Black Widow groomer, based on the size of our arena, the size of our tractor, and the type of rider and event use. We believe our members will like the improvements. Please thank Peggy and Bob Bartlett and John Gazso for the extra work they put into get- ting the Black Widow to Lander and learning how to use it. Thanks to the LOTRA board members for all their support. The LOTRA members - and their hors- es - are going to love our improved arena ground. The indoor arena has gotten a lot of use this winter and spring and we love it! We are grooming the in- door arena a minimum of 5 times per week! This has improved our riding experience with better footing and dust control. To help maintain the arena ground, we are closing the barn for regular maintenance on the 1st and 3rd Monday mornings from 8 a.m. until noon of each month. Thank you for your patience. BARN RENTAL NOTICE: The barn has been reserved for April 27 & 28, 2024 for a private breakaway roping clinic by Willow Wilson. For more information on the clinic contact Caitlan Thorne 307-855-2287. Here's a synopsis of upcoming events so you can plan your rides! Look on our website calendar or Facebook page for more detailed info. http://lotra.org/calendar/ https://www.facebook.com/LOTRArodeo/ We continue to make improvements to the barn, thanks to volunteer John Gazso who has worked on the watering system, the garage doors, security systems, grounds, cattle shelter, cattle pens, roping chute, and many more projects. Thanks to the groundskeeper Peggy Bartlett and the Cattle Care person Nick Scribner for helping with the improvements this past winter and spring.
