Our association is known for hosting many cow horse and stock horse events in Wyoming year-round. CSSHA SUMMER 2024 SHOWS: Cowboy State Classic: CSSHA will host a combined AQHA/VRH-Approved Show, NRCHA Derby, Futurity, Horse Show & Bridle Spectacular on August 21-25 in Big Piney, WY at the Sublette County Fairgrounds. The NRCHA Derby, Futurity, Horse Show & Bridle Spectacular is August 21-24 and the AQHA VRH Show is August 23-25. Rives White and Kari Sack are the show directors, Cyndi Robbins will judge both shows, and Bonnie DeVerniero is the show secretary. Rives White and Kari Sack are collecting donations for their show. Late entries allowed until show day with late fee. CSSHA EVENTS IN THE PLANNING: Mike Bradley is running Stockmanship practices using his cattle for CSSHA during the summer. It's a great opportunity for those of you that want to practice reading cattle while working in a herd. Check our Facebook page for the next dates. The practices are at Mike Bradley's, 81 South Irishman Rd., Riverton, WY from 6:00 to 8:30 PM. Cost to work the cattle will be $35 for the evening. At the April CSSHA meeting, the board voted to partner with the Thermopolis Sorting Series for 2024-2025. Sorting dates are set for November 9 and December 14 in 2024, and January 11, February 8, March 8 and April 12 in 2025. CSSHA is working with Central Wyoming College to hold its 2024/2025 Winter Jackpot Series again. The dates for these events are: October 12-13, 2024 Stockmanship 101/Waddie Drive December 7-8, 2024 Herdwork/Cutting January 4-5, 2025 Sorting (Birthday Party Month) February 1-2, 2025: Ranch Breakaway Roping Mark October 12 on your calendar. CSSHA plans to have its annual BBQ and Annual Meeting at 6:00 pm after the Oct. 12 Stockmanship Practice at CWC in Riverton. Location to be announced. CSSHA CLUB MEETING INFO: Monthly Club Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday evening of each month at Scott Ratliff's home in Riverton WY, and a Zoom link is provided. Check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date info. The August Meeting has been scheduled for August 1. 2024 Membership: Individual CSSHA club memberships are still $20/year for 2024. A family membership is only $25/ year. You can add a subscription to The Wrangler Magazine for $12 with your membership. CSSHA held the Laurie Gardner Memorial Ranch Days, on June 15th & 16th at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton, WY.
