Contact Paula McCormick or Julie Freese to volunteer. 130TH PIONEER DAYS RODEO: e July 3 and 4 Fremont Toyota 130th Lander Pioneer Days had a full slate for 2 days of rodeo. Congratulations to Seth Anderson, the All- Around buckle winner. Contestant results for all events can be found at https://www.lotra.org and posted on LOTRA's Facebook at https:// www.facebook.com/LOTRArodeo/ We had an amazing group of dedicated volunteers and contractors who put on a great rodeo to two nights of packed stands. On July 4th it was standing room only. We can't do this without all our volunteer help, the LOTRA board and members who put in all the committee hours, the Pioneer Days Royalty and Parade Committee, the Catholic Church food vendors, the ticket takers, Jim Burton & LVHS Football Team, and for the work that the City of Lander and Parks & Rec staff put into the arena. ank you from the bottom of our hearts for keeping Land- er's 130-year tradition going. anks to our top sponsors who provided over $10,000 of added mon- ey. BARN NEWS AND MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE: anks to the LOR Foundation grant, LOTRA purchased a Black Widow groomer. e LOTRA members - and their horses - are enjoy- ing our improved arena ground. We are grooming the indoor arena about 5 times per week this summer! is has improved our riding experience with better footing and dust control. e barn is open for members use the 1st and 3rd Monday mornings for now. Please clean up aer your horses and your own cattle. We are actively working to make more improvements this year. e LOR Foundation gave LOTRA a $26,000 grant for improvements to our barn and programs. e board is working on the projects to use these funds. Please provide your input at the next LOTRA board meeting on how to use the remaining funds. e LOR grant purchased the Black Widow groomer, an improved roping chute, a saddle for the Jackpot series awards, a new computer, paid for the arena ground consultant, and funded our new website. We also received a grant from the Lander Rec Board, which will be used to continue to replace the 40-year-old barn roof. Photo Credit: Nate Shoutis Lander Community Foundation 130th Fremont Toyota Pioneer Days Rodeo, known as "The World's Oldest Paid Rodeo," was held on July 3rd and 4th in Lander Wyoming to great weather and full bleachers. Highlights included the iconic Indian Relay Races and all the traditional rodeo events. Contestant results are at LOTRA.org.
